Home Sweet Home

Our flight left Peru this morning at around 12:20. After flying all night we finally made it back to the church right at 3:30 this afternoon.

You could tell everyone was tired, because people just weren't thinking very clearly. Caitlin left her passport sitting on the ticket counter, but remembered before she got too far. While we were ordering some food in the food court Misti put her ticket and passport down and walked off. I couldn't resist the opportunity to take it and put it in my pocket. A few minutes later she was talking about how she was worried that the kids would set something down and lose it. I said, what about you, you don't think you would ever lose something or leave it somewhere. She said, "I've never done it before." I kept going on with this one, knowing that I had her passport in my pocket. I said, well, don't say never. I also told her that someday she would look back and remember this conversation when she forgets something. About 10 minutes later she hit the panic moment and realized she didn't have her passport. Way too funny!

In Atlanta after going through customs and going to the other side of the aiport Paige was Paiged over the intercom and she had left her passport behind. Heather Hicks left her's behind and Jeanette accidentally picked it up and we had a short panic. Then once we got on our final plane in Atlanta Sam Piatt realized that she had left her purse inside at the gate and had to go back in and get it. Not sure if you noticed, but these were all GIRLS!

Well, I'll try and get some more pictures loaded up 2night as long as my eyes stay open.

Thanks for the prayers.

Lost In Lima

I forgot to mention a couple interesting things that happened the other day. Right before we were about to do one of our dramas this little kid that Patrick had been playing around with wanted to play some more and he came up and started trying to wrestle with Patrick. When Patrick told him no and tried to get him to stop he decided to kick him where it counts, so we had to wait a minute to start the drama. Matt Willoughby was also holding a small child in his lap when he felt something wet. He realized that the kid had wet himself and Matt as well. It actually looked like Matt had wet himself. That evening while doing our drama in front of some kids in a school classroom Sam slipped on the cement and fell flat on her face. The whole classroom lost it and it took a while for all of us to stop laughing while trying to finish the drama. Our last time doing the drama that night in the same school yard was a little postponed because the power had been shut off. They finally got it started and towards the end of our drama the power went out again. We froze for a second hoping it would come back on, but it didn’t so we had to finish the Mime that was set to music without any music.

Today was another good day. We went outside of Lima to a new development. There is a National Pastor and his church here that got a burden for this new development and have began the work of starting a new church in the mountains there. We were able to see the property that they have purchased do our dramas in the middle of the market there. It was awesome to hear the burden they have for this new city and the passion they have for seeing it completed. After all of us circled together and had a time of prayer we took up an offering for them and were able to give the some money to help complete one of the buildings they are in the process of building. It was a really cool moment.

Tomorrow morning we will go to church and then pack up and rest a little in the afternoon before heading to the airport for our flight home. We leave here at 12:05 a.m. on Monday morning and should be back in Baltimore around 12:30 Monday afternoon. Please pray for patience for all of us to deal with each other and for a safe trip home.

Sorry, no new pictures. The connection is really slow 2night. It has taken me 30 minutes just to get connected to put this on here.

day...well ím not sure what day

Hey, sorry it has been a while since Ive written, but well weve been busy.

Monday we spent the whole day dusting the walls at the church and then painting. If you have never been here before you wouldnt understand why we have to dust. Everything here has an inch or two of dust on it. That night we ate some Peruvain Chinese food.

Tuesday was our off day and we went to downtown Lima.

Yesterday was a very busy day. We did our dramas 6 different times and got back to where we are staying about 10 last night. The kids did a great job with their dramas and handing out Bibles. We were able to see souls saved and give the local church a lot of prospects.

Today we did some more of the same. I think we only did our dramas 5 times today. This evening we were at a school and pretty much all of us were mobbed. The kids couldnt get enough of us and couldnt get enough of the bracelets. We just finished eating some Dominos Pizza and are ready for a good night sleep. I will probably not be able to put up any more pictures until Saturday night and that depends on whether we have the time and if I can find the hotspot for my wireless when we get back to the hotel.

The kids here really seem to like Fred...maybe its the beard and they think he is Santa Claus.

Please continue to pray for us and we will see you in a couple days.

Day 3

Well it is 1:00 on Monday morning here in Peru, which makes it 2:00 in the morning there in Delaware. Today was a good day. We went to New Life Church this morning. Several of us went to the kids classes and enjoyed our time playing with them. The rest listened to a great message in spanish, at least they are assuming it was great. Then we went out and ate some GREAT Pollo, very good stuff. We came back to the hotel and rested this afternoon and then went back to church tonight. They had a game night tonight so we played some crazy games with them. They were also having a gowing away party for one of the missionary families that are headed back to the states for a year. Tonight we just came back to the hotel and ordered some Pappa Johns Pizza and hung out here. We had a great devotion with Heather Hicks gave us and then we spent about 30 minutes just singing worship songs togther.

I'm not sure where I am getting this wireless signal from, but I'm not complaining since it has allowed me to type this and to upload photos to the XM site, so go check out the pictures page.

To be continued....

Viva in Peru

We made it to Peru! Last night, well I guess I should say this morning we made it safely to Peru. We had a little trouble in Baltimore, because for some reason they didn't have Sam Piatt's ticket. I had printed out a confirmation with her name on it and everything. We finally got the problem worked out and made it to our gate about 15 minutes before we were to board the plane.

Most of us made it through customs just fine, but not Fred, Heather and Jeanette. Afte Fred almost went postal on a couple Peruvians they let them go and we made it to our Hotel around 2:00 this morning.

Today we went to Brent Williams church and folded 2,000 letters and then passed them out. We also went to a Youth Service tonight and had a great time.

Please continue to pray for us and we will keep you posted.
