Birthday Party

I'm sure you have a great memory of a birthday party that you had when you were a kid. Well this past weekend Derek had one of those memorable evenings. Now, it wasn't quite as exciting for Misti and I. Derek turned 7 back on April 13th, so on Friday night we had a birthday party for him. Of course, we couldn't just have a normal one. Derek wanted to have them all sleep over. So, we had 10 1st and 2nd graders at our house all night. You teenagers have destroyed our house, and that is teenagers in Florida, Colorado and now here in Delaware. BUT, I have never seen anything like this before. Popcorn, doritos, cookies and brownies all over the place. The plan was for them to all sleep down in the basement, but at about 2:30 I realized that they were not going to go to sleep. So I split them up and put them into 3 different rooms, and in about 5 minutes they all crashed.

Not sure why I am telling you this, but hey now you know.

Getting Old

Sunday night we found out the older you get the easier it is to get hurt. We were playing a simple game of 3 on 3 at the house and it was the older guys vs. the younger guys. We, the older guys were dominating the game and then some idiot (me) decided that for the last few minutes we would lower the goal and play some dunk ball. Well, right off the bad Drew had this awesome rebound dunk over me, you know the kind they re-play over and over on ESPN. Then Mike Pru went up for a dunk and faked and I believe Drew or Matt went up to block him and ended up on top of Mike's back. Mike has been hurting all week because of that. I decided I was going to block a dunk attempt by drew, and when I came down I came down on the support for the goal and totally jacked up my ankle. Needless to say that ended our game.

Today is wednesday and last night was the first time I could actually walk on uneven surfaces without my ankle hurting. It has a nice blue and black tint to it now as well. Janae decided to get hurt in the soccer game yesterday and I had to run out on the field, trying not to limp too bad, but man was it hurting. Thanks a lot Janae, next time stay on your feet.

Well, I know I say it everytime, but I'll try and keep up this blog a little more.

Seacrest OUT.....I hate it when that dork says that.
