Close One

Hey, hope you all had fun at our house last night. Too bad Ryan and I had to totally humiliate all the guys who thought they could take us on in Volleyball. Too bad I can't beat anyone in Halo.

Update on my personal ad that Ryan made for me. Turns out it was just a hoax, a great white myth. For those of you who don't know what I'm talking about, Ryan was getting me back for saying he was going to give a testimony in front of the whole church. He said he place a personal ad in the gay section. He put that I was a gay white male, 47 years old, looking for a great guy. He even printed out what looked like a website. I guess the website was real, but he somehow he put my face on there.

Nice one Ryan...I am glad to hear it was just a hoax, because I was beginning to feel a little insecure. I mean, No one had called me. Is it my butt?

Talk to you later.

Deacon Dempsey

Man, if you weren't here on Sunday you missed it. Ryan Dempsey was the deacon who was suppose to pray for the offering on Sunday. Ryan is super nervous about getting up in front of people, so I told him that I was going to say he was giving a testimony that day, and then pray. I was just saying this to make him nervous. Then during the welcome I told Pastor Sears that I was going to call Ryan up by saying, "Deacon Dempsey". I also told him that I had joked about saying he was going to give a testimony, but I really wasn't. Pastor said, you should go ahead and do it. He said, "just say, Pastor said Ryan was going to give a testimony." So, since the Pastor told me to do it I had to. Sorry Ryan!

I was just reading Ryans blog on his website. www.ryandempsey.net , man was the story about his wife being half a sleep funny. You need to go read that.

New Tags

In case you hadn't noticed my truck still had Colorado tags. Today, I finally got my Delaware tags! Not only were the Colorado tags on my truch over a year expired, my Title was still in the name of the guy who I bought the truck from. So, today I finally got the title put in my name and new tags. Just thought I would let you know. Now I won't be paranoid about a policemen driving behind me.

The lady who helped me at the DMV was super nice. I found out she goes to a church and was going to invite me, but I told her I was the youth pastor at First Baptist. It was just a reminder that at work, school or wherever we can be a witness.

Okay, I'm out!

Guy's Night Out

Hey, 2morrow night all the high school guys are going to meet up here at the church at 8:00. We are going to go see either, Bourne Supremacy or The Village. Then we will come back and play video games all night.

What to bring:
Money for the movie
Snacks to eat while playing video games all night.

Crazy

Man, the last week has been crazy.

I want to thank all of you who prayed for us to get a house. We are finally in our house! We painted the whole house on Thursday, thanks to the help of....Kristen and Sean Baker, Matt Willoughby, Gabby, Mike & Michelle Pru, all of the MacDowall clan, and Pastor Sears. Hey, Gabby, thanks for the red outlet! You guys were awesome, we could not have got all that painted without your help.

Sunday we had some help moving in. Thanks to the MacDowalls, Prus, Drew and his Uncle, Pastor and Mrs. Sears. Hope I didn't forget anyone. Paige, Joe, Jordan, Derek and Pastor put the trampoline together for us. I think it was more so that they could jump on it than to help us, but either way it is done. They also helped us make sure the pool table was working properly.

We had an intersting time trying to get our couch down the stairs. Me, Mike Pru, Terry and Jason MacDowall worked for about 30 minutes trying to get it around the corner and down the stairs. We finally got it down the stairs, but we put a nice hole in the wall!

Well, that is about it. You'll have to come and check out the house.

Home Sweet Home

Well we got back into Philly last night around midnight! Some of us finally left the airport at around 1:15, and we still had no luggage. Our luggage is somewhere in Miami, we think. Yesterday was a super long day and a lot of things went wrong with our schedule, but God was still in control. It was cool to see how after a 3 hour delay in Peru that everyone realized God had a plan. We were able to witness to a guy who is campaigning to be the Preisident of Peru in 2006. Wouldn't that be awesome if the future president of Peru got saved as a result of us witnessing to him and giving him a tract! If we hadn't had the delay we would have never met him!

Misti and I Closed on our house this morning at 10:00! Aweseome, we are finally back in the U.S. and we now have a home here to live in.

Thank you for everyone who prayed for us while we were gone. Be sure and be here this Sunday morning so you can experience a taste of what we experienced.

"Anyone, up for Broaster Chicken."

Still Lost

A God Moment...Have you ever had one of those moments where you just knew God had to be in it. Well Yesterday was one of those days. We had talked Sunday night about how Monday was going to be one of those days. Our original plan was to do our touristic stuff, but since our flight go changed to go home a day later we had an extra day to do ministry.

We went over to an area called Santa Clara. The missionaries are in the process of starting a church over there. The night before the missionary had shared with us a prayer request for finding property for a church over their. We went and did our dramas at one park and it went really well. Then we went to another and nobody was there, so we moved across the street to a street the missionaries had never been to. It ended up being a really busy street so we did them there. While we were doing the dramas David Liles noticed a nice piece of property right there on the busy street, and it was for sale or rent! So we walked up to the property and prayed over it.

Later we stopped for lunch on the top of this hill at a soccer/basketball court. We were almost done eating when Lao noticed there was about 100 kids walking up the hill. School was out, but this group of kids had been in a marching band contest and so they just happened to be at school that day. We hurry up and set up the sound system while they were walking up the hill. The music caught their attention and then all of white people kept their attention. There was a set of bleachers there so they all sat down and we did our two dramas and then one of the Peuvians spoke. 25 of those kids got saved yesterday. To think, we weren't suppose to be there, they weren't suppose to be there, but GOD set it up.

Well, pray for us today. We are just sight seeing today. Then we have to leave here at 3:15 in teh morning to get to the airport.

Cya,
Michael

Still Lost

Last night was another good night. We ended up having about 50 more visitors at that church? There was 15 more people saved last night.

This morning we went back to that church for services and Jason MacDowall and I got to play for their service. We played a couple hymns while Hiran (associate pastor) led the music in Spanish. I think we were playing along right, but who knows.

Today we went to a nice restaurant on the ocean and then came back to the missionaries house and just crashed. We had our service here at the house so that we could have an English speaking service. Tomorrow we will be going to a different part of town and doing our dramas again. The group that is here from Texas is going home tonight. Then on Tuesday we are going to visit some of the Catholic churches and the catacombs and stuff like that.

Thanks again for praying for us and making this all possible.

One thing I forgot to mention that happened Friday night. The missionary that was giving us our devotion that night said he was going to talk to us about how God spoke to Elijah and how it was different than what Elijah was thinking. Immediately I knew he was talking about how God was not in the Wind, the earthquake or fire. Then Brent, the other missionary said, Earthquake. I just thought he was talking about the story, but then I hear a rumbling noise and felt the house shake a little and realized he was saying, Earthquake!! Luckily it was just a small one and we were okay. Which I'm sure you figured out by now since I'm typing this.

Okay, I'm out of here. Talk to you later,
Michael
