I'm Proud Of You

Don't you just love it when your mom or dad says, "I'm proud of you." My dad has said that to me a lot in the last 33 years, and I'm sure some of them he probably didn't mean it, but there are a few times in particular that when he said it really meant a lot to me. I won't go into the details of it, but I was reminded of that today as we were talking in Chapel about how God dreams for us. Can you believe it, God dreams about you and He has dreams for you. I pray you are living your life and I want to live my life so I can hear God say...I"m proud of you, or as Paul put it. Well done though good and faithful servant.

As humans we are proud of our children and your parents are proud of you over some pretty crazy stuff. The first time you go potty in the big boy potty....WOW EXCITING STUFF. When you first go to school, losing your first tooth, first girlfriend or boyfriend. I was proud of my son last night in his football scrimmage. It was his first play and he was playing defensive end and he busted through the line and nailed the RB. Later he hit the RB and made him fumble. I was so proud of his effort and desire, but as a dad I also noticed things that he could have done better.

God is the same way with us. I believe God watches us and says, wow that was a good decision, wow did you see the way he shut down his computer when he saw something he shouldn't have seen, or the way she stood up to her boyfriend and said NO. I also believe he hurts when we don't make the right choices when we don't live or lives to please Him.

God loves you so much and I want to challenge you and myself to really live our lives to make God proud.
